About Where55
The independent 55+ community directory built for real decisions — not real-estate marketing.
Our Mission
Where55 exists to make the retirement community search simpler, more transparent, and less stressful. Finding the right 55+ community is one of the most significant decisions a retiree makes — and it deserves better than brochure copy and pay-to-rank listings.
We aggregate verified data on active adult communities across the U.S.: pricing, home types, amenities, HOA fees, and cost-of-living context. Our comparison tools, quiz, and cost calculator are free for every visitor, built to help you shortlist real options with confidence before you ever talk to a salesperson.
Editorial Standards
Where55 follows a defined process for collecting, verifying, and updating community information. We hold ourselves to the E-E-A-T standard (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness) advocated by search quality guidelines for YMYL content.
Data Collection
Community data is sourced from public records, MLS feeds, state regulatory filings, and direct contact with community management offices. We do not rely solely on community-supplied marketing materials.
Verification
Pricing, HOA fees, and amenity claims are cross-referenced against at least two independent sources before publication. Significant discrepancies are flagged and held pending resolution.
Updates
Community records are reviewed quarterly. Stale pricing or amenity data is clearly marked with a "last verified" date. Readers can submit corrections via our contact form.
Independence
Where55 is not affiliated with any builder, developer, or senior living operator. We monetize through advertising and agent referrals disclosed on each page — never through pay-to-rank placement.
Privacy
We never sell personal data. When you submit a lead request, your information is shared only with the agent you select. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Content Review
All blog posts and guides are reviewed by at least one team member with relevant domain experience — real estate, senior services, or personal finance — before publication.
Our Team
Where55 is a small, focused team. The bios below reflect the roles and backgrounds of the people responsible for the content and data you rely on. Real names and photos will be added as we grow — a small team moves fast and we want to be transparent about who we are.

Data Sources
Where55 community data is compiled from multiple primary and secondary sources to ensure accuracy and completeness. Key sources include:

- Multiple Listing Service (MLS) feeds — current pricing and homes for sale
- State HOA registration filings — legal community existence and governance structure
- Community official websites — amenities, home types, and builder information
- Direct community contact — verification calls and email outreach to management offices
- Third-party cost-of-living data — neighborhood and regional cost indices
